About the Library

The Brantford Public Library has proudly served the Brantford community since 1884.

Each year, nearly half-a-million people of all ages visit our Main and St. Paul Branches to learn, discover, study and create life-long memories.  

Along with lending books, DVDs and technology materials, we offer printing, photocopying, access to quiet study rooms and programs for people of all ages. We also offer an extensive collection of downloadable eBooks, audiobooks, digital magazines and newspapers, and .access to online learning tools, such as LinkedIn Learning.

A 2021 study revealed the estimated annual value the Brantford Public Library provided to the community was $31.3-million, which worked out to $794 in value per household.

Membership is free

All residents, land and business owners in Brantford can become a member of the Library for free. Membership is also free for residents in County of Brant, Six Nations, Cambridge, and any non-resident that works within Brantford.
